Beyond agile lies craftsmanship.

Craftsmanship is not something that can be learned overnight. Craftsmanship takes time, practice and dedication.

Continuum actively supports the 2009 Software Craftsmanship Manifesto. Our corporate values and Software Craftsmanship are one.

Software Craftsmanship cannot be captured in one definition. We reduced Craftsmanship to its four basic characteristics below and adopted them as the pillars of our organization.

And what does this mean in reality?

Growth mindset

Our Crafters don't wear blinders ;). They are always open to learn new things and to try them out. They can count on their colleagues to test ideas and spar with them. We organize regular training sessions, reading groups, online sessions, ... to make sure our Crafters are ready for tomorrow's technologies. We do not innovate for innovation's sake, but only when it adds value to the project.

Long-term relationships

The hit-and-run mentality, that's not for us. We like to build lasting relationships with our customers. When we make decisions, we always bear the consequences. That guarantees craftsmanship.

Knowledge Sharing & Community

We actively share our knowledge and motivate our Crafters to participate and contribute to the community. We organize both internal and external events where our Tribe members exchange ideas and take each other to the next level. Our Crafters attend various domestic and foreign conferences, either as participants or speakers.

Professionalism

We are pragmatic and not dogmatic. Our Software Crafters behave professionally under all circumstances. Training non-technical skills such as communication, conflict management, project follow-up, ... are at the basis of this.

Partnership

Because we focus on long-term relationships, we get to know our clients - and their business - through and through. That way we can think along and anticipate. On the other hand, we always try to improve ourselves based on feedback. That is why we ask our clients to evaluate our Software Crafters on a regular basis. This is the only way we can become even better at what we love to do.
